The Tom Thomson Trail is a non-motorized, multi-use, multi-season trail between Owen Sound and Meaford that is currently under development.. There is a missing link in the network of trails that have been developed throughout our region. It is the gap between Owen Sound and Meaford. There are no abandoned rail lines to follow and no predetermined route. This is an opportunity to build a trail from scratch. One that shows the best vistas, tackles fewer obstacles and passes through the best of our beautiful countryside.
This is a trail that is used by families and friends for an enjoyable walk, a relaxing bike ride or a peaceful horseback ride. It will connect the trail systems in Owen Sound and the Georgian Trail in Meaford.
Trails are good for communities, good for families, good for health and good for business.
The Tom Thomson Trail Group is a volunteer group working under the auspices of the Bruce Grey Trail Network (BGTN), a charitable, not-for-profit or ganization, which advocates for trail development in the counties of Bruce and Grey.
